Job Title: Reconditioning Production Supervisor
Department: Reconditioning/Detail
Reports To: Reconditioning Manager
SUMMARY
Oversees and ensures the efficient process of the daily cleaning and refurbishing of new, used and customer automobiles.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Management
- Assists management with hiring, training, motivating, scheduling, monitoring and measuring theperformance of all car detailers.
- Oversees reconditioning process and/or conducts all cleaning and prepping of new and used vehicles.
- Responsible to ensures all vehicles are fueled and ready for delivery to appropriate party that meets Lexus CSI and pre-owned sales standards.
- Monitors equipment for safe use and replaces or repairs as needed.
- Responsible for ensuring appropriate documentation is provided and maintained for Village Automotive Group policies, processes, work/inventory records and employment activities as it relates to position.
Department/Team
- Inspects vehicles for noticeable defects, such as dents, scratches, torn upholstery, molding and poor mechanical operation and cleanliness and reports findings.
- Responsible for ordering and maintaining supply of chemicals.
- Open and close RO’s; bill tickets and do customer follow up with (service or sales) for delivery status.
Housekeeping
- Ensures work area and organizes supplies and equipment; may assist in keeping dealership neat and clean.
- Ensures and monitors detailers operate all tools and equipment in a safe manner; use proper eye,hand, and body protection when using products that require protection. Reports any safety issuesimmediately to management and knows where and how to use MSDS sheets.
Performs other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
- Must have at least six (6) months of automotive detail or vehicle reconditioning supervisory relatedexperience or at least one year in as a detailer or vehicle reconditioning in a high end or luxurydealership.
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, procedure manuals and computers. Intermediate pc skills in Microsoft Office preferred.
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide.
- Ability to understand and carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
- Valid Driver's License and acceptable driving record; at least 18 years of age required to drivecompany and customer vehicles with manual or automatic transmissions.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
- Regularly required to stand, use hands to finger, handle, or feel & reach with hands & arms;frequently required to walk, talk, hear, sit, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl and smell.
- Regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds; frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds; and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
- Regularly required to stand, walk, talk, hear, use hands to finger, handle, or feel, reach with hands & arms; frequently is required to climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch; & occasionally required to smell and sit.
- The employee must frequently lift &/or move up to 25 pounds & occasionally move more than 50 pounds.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision,peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
